Mr. Peter Obi the cadidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the just cloncluded 2023 presidential election, has said that he can not be forced to leave the country because he is fighting a just fight. He stated that the Labour Party is committed to creating a new and better Nigeria while adding that there are lots of “thieves” who are dishing out suffering on the masses, and affirmed that his party is determined to flush out such people from the country’s political space.

“There is too much suffering in the country, and that is what we in the Labour Party are fighting to end. There are many thieves in the country. So, Labour Party is fighting to create a new Nigeria. I am here with you and nobody is going to force me to leave Nigeria” Obi added.
The Anambra State governor emeretus, said this at Onitsha Holiday Resort, in Onitsha yesterday, even as he appealed to voters in this saturday’s supplementary election in Ogbaru Federal Constituency.

Mr. Obi who embarked on a road show campaign tour of the wards in the Constituency where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was slated to conduct a supplementary election to determine the ultimate winner of the constituency.

While presenting the LP candidate Afam Ogene, at various points of the constituency, Mr. Obi in the company of senator-elect Tony Nwoye and Mr. Oseloka Obaze beseeched the people to vote for Ogene stating that he is a good and principled man who is committed to “building a new Nigeria” a philosophy that he(Obi) upholds.

“Remember that I built all these roads here when I was governor, if you vote for us in this Saturday’s re-run election, we will come back to thank you; Afam Ogene will develop here,” he added.
