The war between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated, with Israel preparing for a potential ground offensive in Lebanon. IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, announced that Israeli forces are gearing up for this next phase after two days of continuous airstrikes targeting Hezbollah strongholds. According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this military action aims to secure the northern region of Israel and allow displaced civilians to return home safely.
The operation, named “Operation Northern Arrows,” has already displaced over 500,000 people in Lebanon, with the death toll surpassing 600 from Israeli airstrikes. While Hezbollah has responded with increased rocket attacks, including a missile strike on Tel Aviv, Israel maintains control. Despite international calls, particularly from the United Nations, for de-escalation, the situation remains volatile.
