Mr Eazi pledges $2 million to construct a modern indoor and outdoor event centre in Accra, Ghana. The Nigerian music star and entrepreneur aims to strengthen the city’s entertainment and cultural infrastructure through this investment.
The Afrobeats artist made the announcement during his headline performance at Detty Rave 2025, an annual music festival he founded that has become one of the highlights of Ghana’s “Detty December” celebrations. Speaking to the crowd, Mr Eazi expressed concern over the limited availability of purpose-built venues for concerts and large-scale events in Accra.
According to him, the proposed project will only move forward if the Ghana Tourism Authority provides suitable land for development. He noted that access to land remains a major barrier to building permanent event facilities capable of hosting world-class shows and conferences.
Mr Eazi explained that the planned centre would feature both an open-air rave park and a large indoor hall with a seating capacity of about 3,000 people. The facility will host concerts, festivals, corporate events, and cultural programmes throughout the year.
Commitment to Ghana’s Creative Industry
The singer, who has spent many years living and working in Ghana, said the investment is part of his long-term commitment to the country’s creative industry. He emphasized that improved event infrastructure would not only benefit artists and promoters but also support tourism, job creation, and economic growth.
Industry Reactions and Broader Impact
Accra has become a major entertainment destination in West Africa, especially during the festive season, but organizers often rely on temporary venues due to the lack of permanent, well-equipped event spaces. Industry stakeholders believe Mr Eazi’s proposal could help address this challenge if government support is secured.
While the Ghana Tourism Authority has yet to officially respond, the public pledge has generated strong reactions across the entertainment industry, with many praising the initiative as a step toward positioning Accra as a global events hub.
If realized, the project could mark a significant milestone in Ghana’s creative sector, reinforcing the country’s reputation as one of Africa’s leading cultural and entertainment destinations.
