The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) announced on their official X handle today that Hon. Alexander Mascot Ikwechegh has been formally arraigned at the Kuje Magistrate Court for allegedly assaulting a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya. The incident occurred on October 27, 2024, and sparked public interest due to the involvement of a public official. Following an investigation by the Special Investigation Unit and Legal Section, Ikwechegh now faces charges of “Abuse of Office, Criminal Intimidation, and Criminal Force and Assault” under sections 397(b) and 265 of the Penal Code Act.
