Security forces eliminate key bandit leader in coordinated operation
Security forces have shot dead notorious bandit leader Kachalla Na’Allah during a coordinated operation in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, marking a major breakthrough in the fight against banditry in the North-West.
According to security sources, operatives intercepted Na’Allah on Friday, December 12, 2025, between Girnashe and Kuka Tara villages in Tsabre Ward. During the encounter, he engaged the security team, and officers neutralised him on the spot.
Operation Disrupts Bandit Networks in Sokoto
Na’Allah reportedly played a key role in organising bandit attacks across parts of Sokoto State. As a result, security agencies had tracked him for months due to his alleged involvement in killings, kidnappings, and cattle rustling that terrorised rural communities.
Furthermore, sources said Na’Allah maintained close ties with other notorious bandit leaders operating around forest enclaves in the region. His death, therefore, disrupts existing command structures and weakens coordination among armed groups.
The operation involved a joint effort by mobile police units, local community guards, and the Nigerian Army. Security officials said the success highlights improved intelligence gathering and stronger cooperation between formal security forces and local vigilante groups.
Meanwhile, residents of Isa Local Government Area expressed cautious relief following the development. However, community leaders urged authorities to maintain a strong security presence to prevent reprisals and restore lasting peace.
Security agencies have assured residents that operations against bandit networks will continue across Sokoto and neighboring states, as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts and protect vulnerable communities.
