A former Governor of Eastern region Khabarovsk, Sergei Furgal, has been convicted of attempted murder and ordering several contract killings.
Though Furgal earlier denied the charges, earlier this month, Furgal was found guilty of organizing two murders and one attempted murder by the Jury. Furgal was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Friday.
Fugal’s lawyers said they are not satisfied with the judgment and promised to seek appeal.
